Terms of Service (Terms of Use / EULA)
1. Acceptance
These Terms govern your use of the Coinspect iOS app (the "App") provided by SMARTEFFI PTE. LTD. ("we", "us"). By using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms apply in addition to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement; if they conflict, these Terms govern to the extent permitted.
2. The Service
Coinspect lets you photograph a coin (or choose a photo), identifies it using AI, and shows estimated market values by condition grade and, for precious-metal coins, an estimated melt value. No account is required.
3. Estimates Only — Not an Appraisal
- Values are estimates for reference only. This is not an appraisal or authentication.
- Recognition may be wrong. Coinspect does not verify that a coin is genuine, determine its grade, or detect errors or varieties.
- Market values come from third-party data and show the date they were retrieved. Actual sale prices can differ significantly.
- Melt value is calculated from the coin's metal content and a precious-metal spot price, which may be delayed.
- Nothing in the App is financial, investment, or legal advice. Do not rely on the App alone when buying, selling, insuring, or valuing coins.
4. Free Scans
Each device includes 3 free scans in total. A scan is counted when a result is shown to you for the first time; failed scans are not counted. Free scans are tracked per device and are not transferable.
5. Subscriptions (iOS)
Coinspect Pro gives unlimited scans. Plans and prices currently offered (U.S. prices; prices in your region are shown in the App and Apple's purchase sheet before you buy):
- Weekly: $6.99/week. Eligible new subscribers may get the first week for $0.99, then $6.99/week.
- Yearly: $39.99/year.
- Yearly with first-month offer (when shown in the App): $6.99 for the first month, then $39.99/year.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (including any introductory period). Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Introductory offers are available only to eligible users; Apple allows one introductory offer per subscription group.
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- If a renewal payment fails, Pro access stops until Apple successfully collects payment.
- Use Restore Purchases to restore a subscription on other devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- An optional renewal reminder notification may be sent before an introductory period ends. It is a courtesy; you remain responsible for managing your subscription.
6. Your Content
You keep ownership of the photos you submit. You grant us a limited license to store and process them to provide the service and to improve recognition, as described in our Privacy Policy. Only submit photos you have the right to use.
7. Prohibited Use
- Reverse engineering or extracting source code;
- Scraping or automated extraction of data or prices;
- Bypassing free-scan limits, subscriptions, or security controls;
- Interfering with the service or using it unlawfully.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, its design, code, and content are owned by SMARTEFFI PTE. LTD. or its licensors. Third-party data remains the property of its owners.
9. Availability and Changes
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and may change, suspend, or discontinue features.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of identification or values, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses from buying, selling, or valuing coins based on the App. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Singapore, except where local consumer law gives you other rights.
14. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes are posted means you accept them.
